Woman dies from injuries in Burleson house fire

A woman rescued from her burning home Friday afternoon has died in a Dallas hospital, officials said Tuesday.

Jennifer Alaine Correll, 41, of Burleson died Sunday night at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas.

The report of a fire in the 1000 block of Stockton Street came in shortly before 4 p.m. Friday.

Residents told firefighters that people were inside the home; no one answered the door, officials said.

Firefighters forced their way through the front door, extinguished the fire and found Correll, a Burleson spokeswoman said in a news release. Paramedics administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation before she was taken to Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth.

She was later taken to Parkland.

A second resident was not home at the time of the fire, authorities said.

Fire investigators say they believe the blaze started in the master bedroom, but the cause was still under investigation Tuesday. Fire officials were awaiting lab results for debris taken from the home.
