Patrols increased around Weatherford school campuses after a man exposed himself to a student walking home from school, police said Thursday.

Additional school staff members also were on campuses during drop-off and pick-up times, police said.

The ninth-grade student ran away from the suspect Wednesday afternoon and he fled in a pickup, police said.

The incident was reported about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday as the student from the Ninth Grade Center was walking on Lamar Street between Live Oak Lane and W. Russell Street.

The student told police the suspect driving a four-door pickup pulled up across the street, exited his truck, opened his pants and exposed himself.

The student ran home and alerted a parent, who called police.

The suspect is described as a white man in his early 20s, driving a “jacked up” white pickup. The exhibitionist was wearing a white T-shirt and red Nike tennis shoes. The pickup had chrome wheels and possibly a lift kit.

Anyone with information should call police at 817-598-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 817-599-5555.
