It’s official! TCU’s Caylin Moore is 2017 Rhodes Scholar

He’s not a finalist anymore, Caylin Moore is a 2017 Rhodes Scholar.

Texas Christian University Chancellor Victor Boschini announced Saturday night that Moore, a member of the TCU football team, was named a 2017 Rhodes Scholar.

“We could not be more proud to call you a Horned Frog, and we look forward to witnessing the significant and positive contributions you will make,” Boschini said in a university announcement Saturday night.

Of about 200 finalists nationwide, Moore was one of 32 men and women who received the Rhodes scholarship.

Moore will study next fall at Oxford University in England and complete his graduate studies in public policy and business administration.

He had applied for the award this year through his home district in California.

Moore’s journey to the scholarship began in poverty in Carson, Calif., a suburb of south central Los Angeles. Then he attended Marist College in New York and then TCU, where the senior football player has a 3.9 grade-point average in the Honors College.
