Rail service restored after TRE crash in Irving
Rail service was back after an outage Tuesday morning caused when a Trinity Railway Express train crashed into two disabled vehicles that had collided on the tracks in Irving, officials said.
No injuries were reported in either crash.
The traffic accident was reported about 6 a.m. at Irby Street and Rock Island Road in Irving.
People in the vehicles had gotten out when their cars were struck by the train, said Dallas Area Rapid Transit spokesman Mark Ball.
The train stopped running westbound in the city as authorities investigated, but officials used shuttle buses to take passengers between the West Irving and Downtown Irving train stations
