Benbrook police searching for man who’s been missing over a month
A 21-year-old Benbrook man has been missing for more than a month, police said.
A family member reported Chaney Hawthorne missing Aug. 26 after not hearing from or seeing him for several days, Benbrook police said. Five days later, Hawthorne’s vehicle was found in Bowie County on the northeast edge of the state.
Information about the search for Hawthorne has been sent to law enforcement officials around Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana.
Police provided a photo of Hawthorne, described him as about 5 feet 11 inches tall and thin, and requested that anyone with information on his whereabouts contact detective J. Whiteside at 817-249-2752, ext. 6126, or Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477.
