Motorcycle passenger killed in Tarrant County wreck

A motorcycle passenger died early Friday at a Fort Worth hospital from injuries she suffered in a wreck in Rendon, authorities said.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured in the crash that occurred Thursday night in the 5400 block of Rendon Road.

Officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Tina Brown, 40, who died at 12:21 a.m. at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

The 44-year-old Grand Prairie motorcyclist was in intensive care at JPS on Friday, authorities said.

Deputies with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office responded to the accident call shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday.

The motorcycle was northbound on Rendon Road when the vehicle was hit by a car that had been traveling southbound on the road, authorities said. The car was attempting to turn across the highway when it collided with the motorcycle.

The driver was taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. The motorcyclist and his passenger were not wearing helmets, according to reports.
