Pedestrian hit, killed by vehicle in northwest Fort Worth

A woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in northwest Fort Worth early Friday morning, police say.

Officers arrived about 5:30 a.m. at 3000 N Main St. to find the victim lying in the street near NW 30th Street, according to a police report.

The driver called police after hitting the woman and said she had walked out in front of his van, according to the report.

The woman, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, Fort Worth police officer Tamara Valle said.

No other information was released by police.
