Joshua man dies in one-vehicle rollover in far north Fort Worth
Police are investigating a fatal wreck on Sunday in which a car flipped several times on U.S. 287 in far north Fort Worth, ejecting the driver.
Danny Sturges, 35, of Joshua, was pronounced dead at 4:30 p.m. in the 11200 block of U.S. 287, the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office reported. Sturges died of blunt force trauma to the head, the medical examiner’s website said.
Sturges was northbound on U.S. 287 past Bonds Ranch Road when he lost control of his car, which veered into the grassy median, police said in an emailed statement. The car rolled over across the freeway multiple times until it came to rest on a shoulder, police said. Two passengers were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital, according to police.
No other vehicles were involved, and on Monday police were still trying to determine what caused the wreck. Sturges was not wearing a seatbelt, police said.
