Man arrested in connection with Frost Bank robbery

Police arrested a man Saturday who confessed to robbing a Frost Bank downtown on Thursday.

Fort Worth police arrested Dee Ingram, 54, on unrelated charges of aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping.

Ingram confessed to the robbery at Frost Bank, 777 Main St., where he demanded money at gunpoint. After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, he forced bank staffers into a bathroom before fleeing. No one was injured.

Police spokeswoman Natosha Tucker said that Ingram was a suspect and that after police released photos of the robbery, tipsters began to call in. On Saturday morning, a tipster told the lead detective that same suspect may have kidnapped a woman from her residence. The department’s zero-tolerance officers found Ingram and a woman leaving a motel he frequented, the Valley View Motel at 5200 Mansfield Highway.

Tucker said Ingram and the woman had a previous relationship.

Police apprehended Ingram when he stopped at a gas station a few blocks away.

“We are happy to report that the arrest was made without any shots being fired and without injury to anyone,” police said in a news release. “The kidnapping victim did not report being hurt by the suspect; but, she was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure as she complained of medical distress resulting from today’s events.”

Tucker said Ingram had a criminal history but declined to comment further.
