Two award-winning Grapevine-Colleyville Independent School District teachers just won a huge prize from a local car dealership.

Educators Stephanie Maupin and Britt McDougal recently won GCISD Employee of the Year Awards in April. Maupin is a Cross Timbers Middle School social studies teacher and Secondary Teacher of the Year winner. McDougal is a Timberline Elementary School P.E. teacher and GCISD’s Elementary Teacher of the Year.

On top of those awards, Parks Place Lexus in Grapevine is giving each a Lexus to use for the summer break. Each teacher will also get a complementary tank of gas, Park Place swag gifts, four passes to the Dallas Arboretum and a $100 gift card to Southlake Town Square.

“I’m just honored, floored, excited just to work with incredible people, just to be one of them is mind-blowing,” Maupin said in a video on GCISD’s Facebook page.

In the video, McDougal said she was speechless and excited about winning the award.

“When you do what you do every day, and you love it, this is what happens,” McDougal said.

In a news release shared by Park Place Lexus Grapevine, the company said the gifts were in acknowledgement of their “leadership, commitment, and lasting impact on students.”

“Britt and Stephanie bring an extraordinary level of passion, encouragement, and leadership to their students, creating welcoming environments where young people can grow in confidence and succeed,” Charles Owen, General Manager of Park Place Lexus Grapevine, wrote in the release. “Their influence reaches far beyond the classroom, inspiring students, families and the entire GCISD community.”

Park Place Dealerships was founded in 1987 and employs almost 1,400 members.

Both teachers, along with Timberline Elementary School P.E. assistant Mike Sode, who won the GCISD Carolyn Frank Paraprofessional of the Year award, will also represent GCISD for Region 11 at the 2026-2027 state Teacher of the Year competition
