The Carroll school district is considering adding an enclosure to the east marketing deck at Dragon Stadium to be ready when the football season starts.

The open air deck is used for hosting guests, sponsors and trustees from visiting teams.

The school board will consider a proposal at its meeting Feb. 2 to hire HKS of Dallas for architectural services. The costs will be reimbursed through Tax Increment Finance Zone funds, according to the district.

The city of Southlake pays the district $1.5 million annually from the Tax Increment Finance Zone funds.

At the Jan 12 meeting, the Board of Trustees approved the closure of Durham intermediate school in the fall of 2027 due to low enrollment numbers. During the meeting, district officials said some of the Tax Increment funding may be used to add a breezeway to connect Eubanks Intermediate School and Dawson Middle School.

A spokesperson for the district said the proposal is at a preliminary stage and there was no information about cost or build out details until a firm is approved.
