On the heels of the biggest season in its history comes, well, the biggest season in its history.

Performing Arts Fort Worth has announced its 2025-26 season of shows for Broadway at the Bass presented by PNC Bank, and it will feature more shows than ever before with 14 — which surpasses the 12 shows in the current season.

To say there’s a plethora of variety among the shows would be an understatement akin to saying Taylor Swift is a popular singer. The agenda includes the silliness of Monty Python, a trip back to 1955 in a DeLorean, an alternative look at a classic Shakespeare romance, the battle for women’s right to vote — and much more.

“It looks like we did it again,” Performing Arts Fort Worth President/CEO Dione Kennedy said. “After setting the 2024-2025 Broadway Season as our biggest season yet, we wanted to raise the bar just a little bit higher with a record number of 14 shows for our 2025-2026 Broadway at the Bass Season presented by PNC Bank.”

Kennedy noted that the increase in shows is in correlation with Fort Worth, the home of Bass Hall, also growing at a rapid rate. According to U.S. Census Bureau estimates, Fort Worth’s population has grown by 24% since 2010 — which is the same year Broadway at the Bass started. The Texas Demographic Center notes the city is the 12th largest in America and is approaching 1 million residents.

“As Fort Worth continues to grow, so does the variety of shows offered direct from Broadway and exclusive to the road,” she said. “This season has something for everyone, from date nights, to family fun, to seeing your first Broadway show or introducing loved ones to the magic of live theater.

“Whether you’re new to our great city or a Fort Worth native, we invite you to join us for this sensational season of Broadway. We are grateful to all of our sponsors, patrons and community for their continued support, allowing us to bring such a large and diverse selection of shows with so much representation to Fort Worth.”

For example, “The Life of Pi,” based on the bestselling novel by Yann Martel that was also made into an Oscar-nominated movie, tells the story of a young man who finds himself alone on a lifeboat in the middle of the ocean with a tiger. We’re not talking Tigger and Pooh, either, with all due respect to Christopher Robin and his friends.

Have you ever wondered what might have happened if Juliet had decided not to die alongside her beloved Romeo? That concept is the plot of “& Juliet.”

And girl power never sounded so good as “Suffs” tells the story of the brilliant, passionate, and funny American women who fought tirelessly for the right to vote.

Marty McFly and Doc Brown are coming to Bass Hall. “Back to the Future: The Musical” lands in Fort Worth in a show that was brought to the stage by the iconic film’s creators Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis.

For most of the shows, it will be their first time onstage in Fort Worth.

“We are thrilled to have many shows making their Bass Hall debut this season,” said Jason Wise, Performing Arts Fort Worth Senior Vice President, Operations. “While this will not be the first time ‘Monty Python’s Spamalot’ has graced our stage, this production is the new Broadway revival of the 2005 comedy musical. We are also proud to be the only Texas stop for the national tour of ‘Suffs,’ which closes our season.”

This season’s schedule features the return of three shows back by popular demand, all of which were here not too long ago.

“The Book of Mormon” will come to Fort Worth for a third time, most recently in July of 2023. Created from the minds of Trey Parker and Matt Stone — the “South Park” guys, it is perhaps the most popular irreverent musical ever.

And when you’re popular, folks can’t wait to see you again. So it is with “Six,” the musical that imagines if the six wives of Henry VIII could get together and share their stories. The show last played at Bass in late 2023.

“We presented ‘Six’ for the first time in November/December 2023 to sold-out houses. By the time it returns in February 2026 over Valentine’s week, it will have been almost two and a half years. It is an audience favorite and when the opportunity presented itself based on the tour route to bring it back, we couldn’t pass it up,” Wise said.

“As for Hamilton’s return for the third time, it continues to be a blockbuster and as Fort Worth continues to grow and welcome new residents each year, we know there will be new patrons who get to experience Hamilton for this first time when it returns to Bass Hall in July 2026.”

And it only seems as if “Hamilton” is performed at Bass Hall every year. In reality, it’s every other year.

The show was performed at the venue in 2022 and 2024, and is coming back in 2026 — with a run of almost two weeks.
