Keller ISD board calls special meeting, expected to take action on outgoing superintendent
The Keller school board will meet at 9 a.m. Feb. 20 to discuss superintendent Tracy Johnson’s departure and Cory Wilson’s appointment as her interim successor.
Johnson submitted her voluntary resignation and cleared out her office before the Jan. 30 board meeting. Johnson had previously said she intended to resign should Keller’s board of trustees move forward with a plan to split the district in two, using U.S. 377 as the dividing line.
The board was scheduled to vote on Johnson’s separation at the Jan. 30 meeting, but that was tabled due to ongoing legal discussions, according to trustees Chris Coker and Joni Shaw Smith. At the same meeting, Cory Wilson was named interim superintendent. Johnson did not attend that meeting.
Johnson was hired in January 2024, and her contract wasn’t set to expire until 2027.
