Birdville school district asking voters to approve more funding for safety, salary increases
The Birdville school district is asking voters to approve property tax rate so more funds are available for school security and salary increases.
The district wants to use funds from the maintenance and operation portion of the tax rate to cover increasing operating costs. The plan requires voter approval.
Early voting for the Nov. 7 election runs through Nov. 3.
The district said the chance will not result in a tax increase and is below the so-called no new revenue rate, meaning the district will maintain the same revenue per student that it did in 2022-23.
