Denton detectives helped make a sour situation sweeter.

A Denton girl, who set up a lemonade stand to raise money for the Dallas Police Department, returned after getting supplies to find her table stolen and sign destroyed.

Denton police heard about the loss and stepped in. Property crimes detectives presented her with a new table and new cups and lemonade supplies on Tuesday.

“We wanted to show that her effort didn’t go unnoticed,” Detective Wade Laughlin told The Dallas Morning News. “It really touched all of us, the support that [she] and her family showed.”

On Wednesday, the Denton Police Department’s post on its Facebook page had gotten more than 600 Likes and more than 90 shares.
