Big Tex stands ready for the start of the State Fair
Big Tex, the iconic cowboy whose booming voice welcomes visitors to the State Fair of Texas, dusted off his boots and put on his hat Friday in preparation for his 63rd year at the annual fair.
Wearing a new shirt from Fort Worth-based Dickies, Big Tex now occupies his usual spot for the fair, which begins Sept. 25 at Fair Park in Dallas.
