Dallas police investigate after city garbage truck crashes into house

The Dallas Police Department are investigating an accident involving a city vehicle near White Rock Valley on Friday afternoon.

The call was received about 2:20 p.m. The preliminary investigation found that an accident did take place with a city vehicle in the 8500 block of Thunderbird Lane, a police spokesperson said.

KTVT-TV reported that the vehicle was a sanitation truck that broke loose while being towed. The garbage truck then rolled and crashed into a home.

A third‑party towing company was hauling the truck, KTVT reported.

Police said at this time there are no reports of injuries. Investigators will examine the house for structural damage.
