One Dallas restaurant deemed ‘unacceptable’ in latest round of health inspections
One Dallas restaurant failed inspection and another was deemed “unacceptable” due to multiple serious violations, according to the city’s latest health inspection report.
The report contains city data from March 16-22 and 141 inspections.
Dallas’ restaurant inspections function on a 100-point system. A score of 100 is considered to be very good and a score of 69 is considered failing, with a follow-up inspection required in 10 days or closure.
Super Mercado 5 Estrellas, located at 9648 Overlake Drive, failed inspection with a score of 67.
El Merendero Restaurant, located at 333 W Mockingbird Lane, was rated “unacceptable” with a score of 53.
Restaurants rated unacceptable must close to fix their issues and require reinspection prior to reopening.
Inspectors found multiple areas of risk for cross-contamination, multiple sanitation failures, poor employee hygiene and extensive disrepair at the restaurant, according to the report.
Fruit flies and uncovered food were also found at El Merendero, according to the report.
