Dallas Zoo’s baby giraffe dies
The baby giraffe born at the Dallas Zoo in April as people around the world watched online died Tuesday evening after an accident in its enclosure.
“This is a huge loss for our giraffe herd, our staff and our guests,” zoo president and CEO Gregg Hudson said in a written statement. “We’re crushed, and everyone here is in mourning.”
For those interested in donating in Kepenzi's memory, the Dallas Zoo recommends The Giraffe Conservation Foundation.
Watch Dallas Zoo video posted in May of Kipenzi exploring her habitat for the first time.
