The wait is over for Dallas County: H-E-B location set to open in Las Colinas in 2026
Dallas County is slated to see its first H-E-B, planned to open in the Las Colinas community of Irving.
In a news release Wednesday, the popular supermarket chain said the new store aims to “reinforce the company’s commitment to North Texas.”
Set to open in late 2026, H-E-B acquired property to open another franchise near Dallas, off Interstate 635 and Olympus Boulevard, according to the release.
The company said the new location will provide convenient shopping for Irving, Coppell, Grapevine, and West Dallas residents. It is expected to create 700 jobs. Once available, those job opportunities will be posted on H-E-B’s Careers website.
“H-E-B has been a Texas institution for almost 120 years, and it’s a pleasure to welcome them home to Irving along with 700 new jobs for our workforce,” said Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer. “Our community offers an excellent quality of life that includes best-in-class amenities, and the addition of H-E-B reinforces this with its broad array of grocery options at affordable prices.”
Construction will begin in late 2024, the grocery store said.
In June, H-E-B announced it would build a supermarket on the Bedford-Euless border, near Glade Park, with an expected opening in 2026.
Collin County, just north of Dallas, saw its first H-E-B in Plano, which opened on Nov. 1, 2022. The North Texas area also has H-E-Bs in other cities, including Fort Worth, Mansfield, Frisco, McKinney, Allen and Burleson. The store is also planning new franchises in Rockwall, Melissa, and Prosper, according to the release. A location in Forney was set to begin construction in July 2024.
The grocery store chain operates more than 435 stores in Texas and Mexico. Based out of San Antonio, this year marks H-E-B’s 119th anniversary.
