Two people, including a Dallas firefighter, were injured Wednesday morning after a vehicle struck a fire engine stationed at the scene of a major accident, officials said.

Dallas Fire-Rescue units were dispatched to a major accident in the 2500 block of Robert B. Cullum Blvd. shortly before 11:30 a.m. At least two people were transported to local hospitals, Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesperson Jason Evans said in a press release. Around 11:40 a.m., a fire engine still at the scene was struck from behind by a vehicle which wasn’t involved in the initial accident.

The driver was ejected during the collision and transported to a local hospital in serious condition. A firefighter on board the engine was taken to a hospital for evaluation of a minor injury. The firefighter is expected to be OK, Evans said.
