A driver fleeing a minor hit-and-run accident was killed in a second collision in south Oak Cliff late Thursday, and one other person was injured, Dallas police said.

Officers responded to an accident call at Mentor Drive and Frio Avenue around 10:15 p.m. The driver of a van ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a pickup, police said. The van’s driver died at the scene. Preliminary investigation showed he was fleeing from a hit-and-run collision at Ann Arbor Avenue and Frio Drive.

The driver of the pickup was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. There were no injuries reported from the accident at Ann Arbor Avenue.

Authorities haven’t publicly identified the hit-and-run suspect who was killed in the crash. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, according to police.
