Four injured after distracted driver crashes into Dallas construction site, police say
A car crash at a construction site in Dallas on Tuesday sent three people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Dallas police.
A fourth person was injured but paramedics were able to treat and release him or her at the scene.
Officers were dispatched around 8:50 a.m. Tuesday to the 2400 block of North Houston Street, where a car crashed into a construction site.
Detectives determined the driver who crashed into the site was distracted when she caused the accident.
The site of the crash is near the Perot Museum, Klyde Warren Park and hotels and other businesses. Road construction in the area has been ongoing for months.
The driver, Aighiray Harper, 31, was arrested on unrelated charges from warrants, according to police. Authorities have not said whether they intend to file any charges related to the crash. A search of Dallas County court records was inconclusive.
The car, which appeared to be upside down, landed in a construction hole that had barriers around it, Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV reported. One of the injured workers was pinned by the car, a Dallas Fire-Rescue official told WFAA.
