The Dallas Police Department is asking for the public’s help locating a suspect in the kidnapping of two children from Sunday.

Leonard Lamar Neal, 41, is suspected in the kidnapping, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated sexual assault of a child, according to police.

The kidnapping happened Sunday on Argentia Drive in south Dallas, at a complex off South Zang Boulevard near Interstate 35E.

The children, a 9-year old and a 7-year-old girl were walking when a man approached in a gray crossover-type vehicle with spots of color missing, police say.

The children accepted the man’s offer of a ride.

The man drove to a store. As the 9-year-old went to the door, the man drove off with the 7-year-old, police said, triggering an Amber Alert.

Both children were later located and recovered.

Anyone with information about Neal’s whereabouts is asked to call 911.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information called in that leads to the arrest and indictment in this kidnapping and other felony offenses. Crime Stoppers can be called at 214-373-TIPS (8477) or a tip can also be submitted online at P3tips.com, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
