Dallas officer breaks leg after driver almost hits him at scene of car crash, police say

An officer with the Dallas Police Department was injured after a vehicle drove through the scene of a car accident early Saturday morning.

At about 1:00 a.m. Saturday, a Dallas police officer was working a vehicle accident at South Walton Walker Boulevard and Keeneland Parkway.

A vehicle drove through the perimeter of the scene, and the officer jumped over a railing to avoid being hit.

The officer was taken to a local hospital and treated for a broken leg.

The driver did not stay at the scene or render aid, according to police. The vehicle was located.

Police were still working to identify the involved driver as of Saturday afternoon.
