Dallas court building evacuated, closed for the day after bomb threat

The Dallas County courts building remained closed Friday afternoon after it was evacuated early in the day due to a bomb threat, officials said.

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office said on Twitter that they were notified around 8:10 a.m. of a bomb threat at the Frank Crowley Courts Building, located in the 100 block of North Riverfront Boulevard in Dallas. The building was evacuated, and at 10:05 a.m. the sheriff’s office wrote on Twitter that the perimeter had been secured.

According to Star-Telegram media partner WFAA, bomb detection dogs were brought in to look for the device, but they didn’t find anything.

Officials told WFAA that the bomb was supposed to go off at 10 a.m.

The building will be closed for the rest of the day.
