Unknown suspect abandoned animal crate with 5 guinea pigs on Dallas trail, police say

Here’s something you don’t see every day in North Texas.

Dallas police asked for help Wednesday to find the owner of guinea pigs who were abandoned last week on a trail in Dallas.

Authorities called the owner an animal cruelty suspect.

Five guinea pigs were left in an animal crate on Jan. 17 on the Santa Fe Trestle Trail at 2295 S. Riverfront Blvd. in Dallas.

Dallas police said four of the guinea pigs survived, and they are doing well, but one did not survive.
