Missing 3-year-old girl who was in stolen car has been found safe, Dallas police say
A missing 3-year-old Dallas girl has been located and she’s safe, Dallas police said Wednesday morning.
Dallas police said the girl was found in the 1000 block of Mountain Lake Road.
An Amber Alert was issued earlier Wednesday morning for the 3-year-old Dallas girl who was in a car stolen from outside a store, Dallas police said.
When the alert was issued, Dallas police had not located Chasity Collins or the car, but Dallas police announced just before 11 a.m. that she had been located. She was found in the vehicle.
No arrests have been made, police said.
The child was in the car when it was stolen about 12:30 a.m. in the 2400 block of W. Ledbetter Drive in Dallas.
The girl’s mother told police she had gone inside a convenience store and left the car running with her daughter inside, according to KDFW-TV. The woman said she saw a man jump inside the car and speed away with Chasity still in the vehicle.
The car drove off north on Hampton, shortly after the vehicle was stolen.
Anyone with information should call Dallas police at 911 or 214-671-4268.
