Three people die when speeding car runs red light, collides with another car in Dallas
Three people died early Monday after a car crash at a west Dallas intersection, and a driver has been arrested and accused of intoxication manslaughter.
The three victims were all in the same car. They include the 47-year-old male driver and two passengers, women ages 19 and 18.
Another passenger, a 42-year-old woman in the front seat, was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.
All of the names were withheld pending notification of relatives, Dallas police said.
About 1:35 a.m., a car driven by a 23-year-old man was traveling westbound on Singleton Boulevard at a high rate of speed, police said. At the same time, the victims’ car was heading southbound on North Hampton Road and entered the intersection of Singleton Boulevard with a green signal.
The speeding car ran a red light and collided with the victims’ car, which was forced into a counter clockwise spin and struck two other cars, police said. The driver was arrested and accused of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
