Parkland hospital system in Dallas restricts visitation due to coronavirus
A Dallas hospital system is limiting the number of visitors allowed for patients due to COVID-19, the health system announced Thursday.
The Parkland Health and Hospital System will restrict the number of visitors at all Parkland facilities, including Parkland Memorial Hospital at 5200 Harry Hines Blvd and the system’s neighborhood-based Community Oriented Primary Care health centers.
Each patient will be allowed to have one visitor a day.
“While Parkland staff understands the importance of visitors and loved ones, we want to take all precautions for everyone who enters our doors,” the health system said in a news release.
The health system will also suspend participation in all community events, health fairs and public speaking engagements until further notice.
Parkland Health and Hospital System is the official hospital district of Dallas County and is one of the largest public hospital systems in the country. Parkland Memorial Hospital serves more than 1 million patients a year, according to the hospital website.
There have been three presumptive positive cases of coronavirus in Dallas County.
