Dallas County reports its third presumptive positive case of coronavirus
A third person tested presumptive positive for coronavirus in Dallas County, Dallas County Health and Human Services reported Wednesday.
The person is an Irving resident in their 50s who recently traveled out of state and attended a large recreational event, the health department said in a news release.
The patient is currently being treated at a Dallas-area hospital and is not connected to two other presumptive positive cases in the county. Health officials said the three cases are not indicative of community spread in the county.
“The City of Irving is currently monitoring the COVID-19 situation and have been in close contact with state and county officials in regard to the current situation in our area. We will continue to stay connected with public health officials and are prepared for the care and safety of our residents, businesses and visitors,” Irving Mayor Rick Stopfer said in the press release from Dallas County.
On Tuesday, a 77-year-old and a person in their 50s who is a close contact of the first individual tested positive for coronavirus in Dallas County in the county’s first “presumptive positive” cases of the disease, the Dallas County Health and Human Services department said.
