Demolition do-over: Dallas building still standing after implosion attempt
Demolition crews are still working Monday to bring down a portion of a building that has refused to come down during a weekend implosion effort in Dallas’ Uptown area.
The core shaft of the building at 2828 North Haskell Avenue is still standing, despite the detonation of explosives designed to bring down the entire structure on Sunday morning, according to WFAA-TV channel 8.
Officials from Lloyd Nabors Demolition told WFAA they have manual methods to help with the completion of the project.
Traffic on U.S. 75 was stopped for almost 45 minutes Sunday morning for the demolition, which brought down most of the building, which appeared to be about 12 stories tall.
