Large hail, damaging winds possible in late afternoon storms Sunday

Storms with hail, damaging winds and a possible tornado are possible in the Metroplex late Sunday afternoon and evening, according to the National Weather Service of Fort Worth.

Sunday morning and afternoon brought cloudy skies and a light drizzle, and severe weather was possible starting at 4 p.m., Juan Hernandez with the National Weather Service said.

If those storms move into the DFW area, the Metroplex could see large hail and high winds — and the possibility of a tornado cannot be ruled out, Hernandez said.

The major threat will be between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. After that, a cold front will move into the area.

Tomorrow, the high will be about 48 degrees, but a cold wind will make the weather feel colder, Hernandez said.
