Carroll Senior High grad killed in Dallas hit-and-run
Police were searching Monday for a black 2008 to 2011 Dodge Challenger that fatally hit a Carroll Senior High School graduate early Sunday on Mockingbird Lane, police said.
Paul Miltenberger, 20, was crossing the 5500 block of East Mockingbird Lane outside a crosswalk shortly before 2:30 a.m. when the car hit him on its passenger side, police said.
The driver did not stop.
The Challenger should have major damage to the front end, damage to the windshield and a missing passenger side mirror, according to police.
“Paul was a wonderful young man who will be missed by many,” his family said in a statement. “He treated everyone he met with kindness, generosity, love and respect. We ask that you respect this time of grieving and the privacy of our family.”
Miltenberger was a 2013 graduate of Carroll Senior High and a member of the soccer team. He was attending the University of Missouri, according to school officials. He listed Plano as his home address on his Facebook page.
“Our hearts are heavy after learning the news about Paul Miltenberger. Our love and support goes out to the Miltenberger family, to Paul’s friends, former teammates, coaches and teachers during this time of loss,” according to a statement from the Carroll school district. “Words cannot express the grief we feel over the loss of a member of our Dragon family.”
An aunt, Becky Miltenberger, was a Carroll school trustee from 2000-2003.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at White’s Chapel Methodist Church, 185 S. White Chapel Blvd., in Southlake.
