A woman who raced and crashed her car with her unrestrained 13-month-old son inside has been charged with child endangerment, according to media reports.

Dallas police responded to the crash about 1 a.m. Sunday on southbound South Central Expressway near Linfield Road, NBC5 reported.

Police said 19-year-old Keirra Beaty was in a street race with another vehicle when she lost control and left the road, striking a telephone pole, according to Fox4.

Police said a child was unrestrained in the back seat, held by a passenger, NBC5 and CBS11 reported. The child was taken to a hospital but was not injured, the stations said.

Court documents said the passenger told police Beaty was speeding at 120 mph, Fox4 reported.

Police said the woman knowingly engaged in a street race and failed to secure the child in a safety seat and is being charged with child endangerment, the stations reported. The suspect was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
