Residents flee Dallas apartment fire by jumping off balconies
About 70 firefighters responded to a four-alarm fire early Sunday that affected about 24 apartment units.
Firefighters responded about 2 a.m. Sunday to the fire at the Mandalay Palms Apartments in the 7500 block of Chesterfield Drive in Dallas.
Jason Evans, a spokesman for Dallas Fire and Rescue, told FOX4 that because of the fire’s location in the apartment breezeway, some had to jump off their balconies.
The station reports two men were injured trying to escape but were taken to a local hospital as a precaution.
The cause of the blaze is being investigated.
