Fort Worth hospice provider Community Healthcare of Texas names new top doctor
Community Healthcare of Texas named Dr. David Capper as its new chief medical officer, the organization said in a news release Thursday.
The group is headquartered in Fort Worth and is the state’s largest nonprofit hospice care provider. Capper is taking over from Dr. Karen Godfrey, who retired last year after 13 years with Community Healthcare of Texas.
“Dr. Capper is a highly respected hospice and palliative care expert, and we’re thrilled to have him join our team,” said CEO Viki Jingle in a statement.
Capper most recently served as medical director of palliative care for JPS Health Network.
“Early in my career, I recognized that patients weren’t often cared for well at end-of-life, and I was determined to change that,” Capper said in a statement. “With hospice, we have an opportunity to connect patients with a holistic model of care where we focus on the whole person.”
Community Healthcare of Texas is associated with the Texas Health Resources hospital system.
