Police are looking for a man in his early 30s who sexually assaulted an 11-year-old boy in his BMW and then gave him $100, police said.

The man approached two 11-year-old boys in an apartment complex in the 5400 block of East Rosedale Street at 7 p.m. Jan. 12 and asked which one wanted make $100, Detective Chris Daniels said in a Wednesday news conference at Fort Worth police headquarters.

One of the boys said yes, and got into the man’s four-door newer model silver BMW with gray seats, said Daniels, a detective with the crimes against children unit.

The victim told police that the man drove him to a nearby side street and assaulted him. He then took the boy back to his apartment complex and gave him the $100, Daniels said.

“The other boy ran to the victim’s mother and informed her of what happened,” he said.

The same man is also accused of soliciting a 17-year-old as he walked home from Dunbar High School in east Fort Worth near Loop 820. “We believe it is someone familiar with the area,” Daniels said.

The teenager told police Jan. 9 that he was walking home in the 1800 block of Lucas Drive when a man in a BMW offered him $100 for a “sexual favor,” Daniels said.

The teenager repeatedly said no, walked home and immediately told his stepfather, Daniels said.

Detectives said the man has been seen loitering near the Martin Luther King Community Center, 5565 Truman Drive.

Daniels said he fears there may be other victims. The man likes to target boys 10 to 16, police said.

All the incidents have occurred in neighborhoods just south of East Rosedale Street and west of Loop 820 in east Fort Worth.

Police described the suspect as a light-skinned black man with a goatee.

Fort Worth police are asking any other victims of the suspect to come forward. They are also asking anyone with information to call the department’s crimes against children unit at 817-348-1155.
