Saginaw police seek clues in fatal shooting
Police were looking for clues Saturday night that might help them identify a suspect in a shooting that left a youth dead just a few days before he would have turned 18.
The shooting occurred in midafternoon in the 200 block of Creekside Drive. The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Jordan Miles of 241 Creekside Drive and indicated that the incident occurred at 257 Creekside Drive. Miles would have turned 18 on Tuesday, according to the medical examiner’s website.
Saginaw police Capt. Russell Ragsdale said that the shooting occurred during “an altercation” but that police had not determined what it was about or found an eyewitness.
Police were told the shooter left in a vehicle.
“We have a resident there who was inside, and by the time they came out, it was over,” Ragsdale said. “At this point it looks like just the two guys were involved.”
MedStar took Miles to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, where he was pronounced dead.
Police didn’t know how long the shooter and victim knew each other, Ragsdale said. “There’s not an old feud that anyone’s aware of,” he said.
