Fitness instructor killed at Midlothian church died of head wound, warrant says

A search warrant sheds light on how a mother was killed inside a Midlothian church Monday morning.

Terri "Missy" Bevers died from a head injury, the warrant states, and the suspect used an "unknown instrument."

The search warrant also states that Bevers' iPad and planner were seized as part of the investigation, along with other personal items.

Local police are working with outside agencies to solve the crime. Police escorted an ATF K-9 team into the Creekside Church of Christ where the 45-year-old mother of three was killed early Monday morning as she readied to teach a boot camp fitness class.

Surveillance images from inside the church show the apparent culprit clad in SWAT team style gear who had broken into the building and had been inside for some time prior to the murder.

Officials revealed Wednesday that cameras outside the sanctuary were not working.

The funeral service for Missy Bevers is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cowboy Church of Ellis County in Waxahachie.
