One man was killed and several people suffered minor injuries Friday when a man trying to cross Interstate 20 was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by authorities who responded to a call about the collision shortly before 8 p.m. in the 5400 block of the eastbound lanes of Interstate 20. The motorist who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene of the wreck, police said.
Five other people were treated for minor injuries as a result of a multivehicle wreck that followed the pedestrian being hit, according to emergency medical personnel.
One young women was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital with for treatment, and four other people were treated at the scene and released, according to authorities.
