Missing Iraq vet reported safe in Indiana
An Iraq veteran with depression, post traumatic stress disorder and a brain injury who had been missing since before the new year is said to be safe in Indiana.
Joseph Jennings, 33, left his Venus home on foot with only his ID in his possession last Monday, according to the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department.
Jennings’ wife notified sheriff’s department that she talked to him on the phone at 9:15 p.m. Saturday, nearly a week after his disappearance, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.
It was not clear Sunday why and how he left Texas for Indianapolis.
His wife is en route to see him.
Sheriff Bob Alford had previously asked for public help locating the man.
“Sheriff Alford would like to thank everyone for their concern and assistance,” the news release says. —Monica S. Nagy
