Irving woman accused in fatal stabbing of friend

An Irving woman accused of fatally stabbing a 60-year-old friend this month was arrested Thursday.

Eileen North, 55, was taken into custody at her attorney’s office in Irving, police said.

North is accused in the fatal stabbing of Rosemary Milazzo on Dec. 3 at Milazzo’s home in the 2400 block of West Eleventh Street.

North lived a half-mile away, and the two had known each other for several years, said Irving Detective James McLellan on Thursday.

A friend called 911 at 3:48 p.m. after Milazzo failed to show up for work on Dec. 3. The friend went to her house and found it locked, McLellan said.

“The friend could hear the dogs inside, and they weren’t acting normal,” McLellan said. “That friend looked through a window and saw blood on the floor.”

The friend called 911 and officers found the body.

“Officers had to kick open the door,” said McLellan said. “From the investigation, it appeared that Milazzo was stabbed just a few hours before officers found her body.”

Milazzo died from multiple stab wounds, according to a medical examiner’s report.

Police found bloody footprints that suggest only one other person was at Milazzo’s home at the time of the murder, according to the arrest affidavit. The affidavit also says North came willing to an interview with the police and admitted to being at Milazzo’s home at the time of the murder.

“She described details of the crime scene that was not released to the public and that only the murder suspect would have known,” it reads.

Police obtained search warrants for North’s home and 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee that is registered to her.

According to the search warrants, a blue tin where Milazzo kept her illegal drugs was missing from the scene.

Police did not report on a possible motive.

North was in the Irving Jail Thursday with bail set at $1 million.

She faces a murder charge, police said.
