Woman sentenced for neglecting bedridden mother

A Euless woman was sentenced to 10 years probation Tuesday three years after her mother was found dead in her bed, covered in feces and bed sores. The woman, Bonnie Ann Cupples, 58, shared an apartment with her 77-year-old mother who had Alzheimer’s disease. Cupples told police that her mother did not want nursing home or hospice care. After the mother’s body was found, a detective and personnel of the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office called it one of the worst neglect cases they had seen, according to the Tarrant County district attorney’s office.

Man dies trying to cross freeway

A man running across Interstate 35W north of downtown Tuesday morning was hit by an 18-wheeler. He died later at a hospital, a police spokeswoman said. Witnesses said the man was trying to cross northbound lanes of the 3200 block of Interstate 35W north of Papurt Drive about 11 a.m. He had not been identified by Tuesday evening.
