Police investigate possible machete attack in Fort Worth
A man was in serious condition Wednesday morning after being cut in the throat in an attack outside a game room, according to a police report.
Fort Worth police were summoned to North Main Street at Meacham Boulevard about 7 a.m. Wednesday on a report of a car stopped in the middle of the street with a passenger inside with a severe cut wound to his throat.
The driver told dispatchers that someone had cut the passenger with a machete, according to 911 call details.
Cpl. Tracey Knight, a police spokeswoman, said the victim and driver had reportedly been at a game room on Business Highway 287, when an altercation occurred between two groups of males.
The victim indicated to police that he and the driver were not involved in the altercation but were attacked in the parking lot by a male suspect. Police described the weapon used as a “large edged knife.”
The victim was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital in serious condition, police said.
Police are still searching for the suspect. A detailed description of the suspect was not available early Wednesday morning.
