Man arrested in Arlington for attempted Motel 6 robbery
A 23-year-old man was arrested in Arlington Tuesday afternoon after police linked him to the attempted robbery of a Motel 6, according to a North Richland Hills police statement.
Carlton Donvel Farris was armed with a handgun when he attempted to rob a Motel 6 in North Richland Hills on Dec. 3, police said.
Farris fled when the clerk told him he didn’t have access to the money, according to a security video.
After media outlets broadcast and used social media to share the video Monday, a viewer called police with identifying information leading to Farris’s arrest, police said.
He was located in the 800 block of East Sanford Street in Arlington and taken into custody by Arlington and North Richland Hills police.
He was in the North Richland Hills jail Tuesday night with bail set at $100,000. He faces a charge of aggravated robbery. —Monica S. Nagy
