Man tries to rob Motel 6

A man who tried to rob a Motel 6 in North Richland Hills armed with a handgun walked away with nothing when the clerk told him he didn’t have access to the money, according to a North Richland Hills police statement.

The man walked into the motel and confronted the clerk with a handgun and demanded money Wednesday at 12:50 a.m. at 5151 Thaxton Parkway, police said in a news release. He fled after the clerk was unable to give him the money, according to a video capturing the incident.

The department is investigating the aggravated robbery and asking for the public’s help identifying the man.

He is described as having light brown skin, with a left eyebrow piercing and shaved cuts in both eyebrows. He may have a small tattoo on his face near one of his eyebrows, police said.

The man was last seen wearing a dark hoodie with lighter-colored horizontal stripes and jean shorts, police said. — Monica S. Nagy
