‘Intentionally discarded’ fetus found at Lewisville Lake Park, police say
Lewisville police are investigating after a “discarded, deceased human fetus” was left abandoned on the shoreline at Lake Park Friday, July 10, officials said.
Lewisville police responded to a 911 call around 8 a.m. from a resident on the 200 block of E. Lake Park Road who said they found what looked like a human fetus.
Police found the discarded fetus by the shoreline. Detectives with the Lewisville police, along with investigators with the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office, were at the location searching for more evidence.
The fetus looked to be around 5 to 6 months gestation and was “intentionally discarded,” according to a statement from the Lewisville Police Department. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the fetus’ identity and the circumstances that led its death.
Police cleared the scene around 10:30 a.m., and said the investigation is ongoing and more information is not currently available.

Police and fire departments were also called to Lake Park Road Thursday for a suspicious package at Sandy Beach Road and Turtle Trail, but police said that the two incidents are not connected.
