Fort Worth woman identified as victim of fiery, fatal car crash that left 6 dead
A woman from Fort Worth has been identified as one of the six people who died in a crash in Hill County over the weekend, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
On June 20 at around 4:30 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred on State Highway 171 near FM 3155, between Bynum and Malone.
Authorities said a Nissan traveling north attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with a Ford van.
Both vehicles went up in flames after the collision, according to the department.
Inside the Ford van were Amanda Fowler, 37, Sarah Johnson, 59, an 8-year-old boy and a 7-year-old girl, from Hillsboro, Texas. All died on the scene. A 10-year-old boy who was injured was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Sallie Evans Benson, 67, of Fort Worth, and Marvin Evans, 50, from Fort Collins, Colorado, were in the Nissan. They died at the scene.
This investigation is ongoing, and families have been notified, the department said.
