Fort Worth police seek potential victims of robber accused of stealing cellphones
The Fort Worth Police Department has put out a public assistance request to find victims of a robber who is believed to have stolen more than 10 phones since early June.
On June 19, officers responded to a call in the 5400 block of Parker Henderson Road in response to a robbery. There they spoke to the victim of the robbery, who said they were meeting with a prospective buyer interested in buying a phone, Fort Worth police said in a social media post.
Emanuel Perez Mena, 21, the man who was pretending to be interested in buying the item, then grabbed the phone from the seller’s hand and drove off, dragging her along with the car for a short period of time, police said.
Fort Worth police said that several hours later they received a call from the Arlington Police Department about a similar robbery. The robbery reported the same make and model of car — a silver 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer — and description of the thief.
Fort Worth and Arlington police officers located the Trailblazer near Randol Mill Road and arrested Mena on suspicion of aggravated robbery.
Detectives said they are looking for any other victims who may have been robbed by Mena. Police can be contacted at 817-392-4469.
